San Carlos is the port city which drains the Great Lake of Nicaragua, where Rio San Juan comes up and contribute the Cold River. This condition does not hide that it is a fishing village and faithful devotee of the Virgin of the lake.

The city, founded in 1527 as New Jaén, making San Carlos from 1666, when he was inaugurated their stronghold, which met the strategic goal of protecting the entrance to the Great Lake of Nicaragua and repel any invasive action initiated by enemies of the crown to the city of Granada, an important commercial and concentration Iberian colonial times in Nicaragua.

Then, we contine through Central Park, La Fortaleza, the Barrio Escondido The Mirador, to end at the newly constructed boardwalk.

Option 2: SAN CARLOS – LAUREL GALAN – SAN JOSE – SAN CARLOS

Breakfast and departure to Laurel Galán where we will on horse begin our journey to reach the San Jose agroturism farm of the region of Morillo. Arriving at the farm we will be engaged in the tasks of collecting milk, planting and harvesting of beans and rice. Lunch and horseback ride along the paths and roads of the farm to observe wildlife up to the coast of Morillo in Lake Nicaragua to ship and return to the city of San Carlos.
