Option 1: SAN CARLOS

San Carlos is the port city which drains the Great Lake of Nicaragua, where Rio San Juan comes up and contribute the Cold River. This condition does not hide that it is a fishing village and faithful devotee of the Virgin of the lake.

The city, founded in 1527 as New Jaén, turned into San Carlos a year from 1666 when opened its fortress, which met the strategic goal of protecting the entrance to the Great Lake of any invasive action by the enemies of crown city of Granada, an important commercial and concentration Iberian colonial times in Nicaragua.

Our city tour will show us the details of the ship known as the Cachimbón that lies in the waters of the Great Lake after serving during the time of the Transit route. Continuing through Central Park, La Fortaleza, the Barrio Escondido The Mirador, to end at the newly constructed boardwalk you will enjoy this city tour.

Option 2: SAN CARLOS – WETLANDS – SAN CARLOS

Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the dock to board the dinghy to take us to cross the wetlands where we will observe and catch the rich biodiversity of the area. We see all kinds of birds, reptiles, mammals and if you are lucky enough to be able to see a tiger cat (Leopardus tigrinus). Lunch and return to San Carlos. In the evening you can relax or choose from the wide range of activities such as kayaking, canoeing or night watch alligators. Dinner and overnight.
