DAY 01: SAN CARLOS - EL CASTILLO

Departure by boat to the Castle, which is only 50 kilometers far away from San Carlos, the provincial capital of the department of Rio San Juan. We go into a magical world filled with colorful birds, wildlife and amazing forests.

Suddenly the hue of the landscape is broken by the astonishing figure of silent watch: The fortress of the Immaculate Conception. Arrival, lunch and tour of the town culminating by the visit of the Fortaleza.

To fight the pirate raids against Spanish ships’ and the city of Granada, Spain require to build the fortress whose construction was completed in 1675. Accommodation and dinner at El Castillo. Free time to hire one of the optional excursions such as boat trips to Boca la Juana, kayak, horseback riding or visit the agro-ecological farms

DAY 02: THE CASTLE - BOCA DE LA JUANA

Breakfast and departure by boat or kayak to Boca la Juana pipe in the buffer zone of the Indio Maiz, considered one of the best preserved natural reserves of Nicaragua.

Indio Maiz Biological Reserve covers 3.157 km2 and is home to countless species of birds such as toucans, hummingbirds and bird emblem ara ambiguous, you can also see deer, sloths, peccaries, pumas, bales, scarlet macaw (Arao Macao), mono(Alouatta palliata), white face (Tayassu Pacari), jaguar (onca phanthera). Our walk along the paths of farms where preserved - by conscience ara habitat ambiguous.Birdwatching and observation of the Ambiguous Ara nests’. Lunch, dinner and camping on the road.

DDAY 03: ESTATES BOCA DE LA JUANA

Breakfast at the camp. Day to observe the behavior of the pair of ara ambiguous. The ambiguous ara nests from December to June. Eggs are placed between January and February, the chicks hatch between February and April. During the incubation period for the male is the one responsible to forage while the female incubates and cares for the baby. Lunch, dinner and camping on the road.

DAY 04: COMMUNITY BOCA DE LA JUANA - BOCA DE LA JUANA - EL CASTILLO

Breakfast and lunch in the field. Morning to observe the spider ambiguous. Walk back to the mouth of the tributary to return to El Castillo. Overnight at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 05: THE CASTLE - SAN CARLOS

Breakfast and departure by regular boat to San Carlos.
